The Akai Galaxy, also known as NGC 4669, is located at 221 million light years from the Milky Way. Its a Galaxy of the spiral type or Sbc. It was discovered on April 14th, 1789 for humanity by William Herschel.

The name Akai, means "Red" in the ancient tongue of Earth known as Japanese, and this name was given due to the red color of this Galaxy that gives its distinctive nature.

It was colonized by humans from the nearby Icarus Galaxy, but soon the Akai Galaxy surpassed it in importance and population.
