"Douma. The ultimate symbol of our independence and how far we have gone as a unified people. We took a lifeless world and made it our own personal Eden and continued to do so to countless others. Let this world stand as the ultimate rebuttal to those who had and continue to doubt us."-Lakarda LakvanDouma is the fifth planet of the Hope System located in the Ambrosia Galaxy. It was originally a cool D-Class world before becoming the temperate E-Class world we see today thanks to the use of terraforming.
Douma was very similar to the Sol System planet Mars before it was terraformed. Douma shows evidence that it was once a planet teeming with life, much alike it's sister planet Haven. However when the ice giant planet Acconda crossed within Douma's orbit it annihilated all life on its surface. Whether this happened naturally or artificially is unknown, but due to the nature being very suspect, it is believed to be most likely caused' by the Etymology.
However thanks to the actions of the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems, Douma would be teeming with life once again thanks to the use of terraforming. However this life would come from its sister-world of Haven, but native ancient Douma life is currently being cloned, with most famously the Balaena Magna has been brought back from the dead.
During its ancient history, Douma served as the second most populace and important world of the Havenites and their republic, only being beaten out by their home world of Haven, with a massive population of 25,000,000,000,000.
Before being terraformed, Douma was covered with dried up lakes, oceans, and rivers. The most famous of these is the Great Douma Ocean, an ancient ocean that dried up after Douma's destruction. The largest city of Douma was located within the dried ocean's borders, Aman City.
The ocean's surface area was 6,345,901 km². Limestone mountain regions dominated large expanses of the planet and Eosesh City was located within the Eosesh expanse of limestone mountains established around a Balaena Magna fossil discovered there. Other notable locations during this period included: the Liph Ocean, Usron Island, Suknush Ruins, Ekejanan Ruins, Srep Volcanoes, and the Polar Ocean.
Ancient fossils are found all across the planet, both microorganisms and large creatures, most famously the Balaena Magna fossil, an ancient creature three hundred and seventy seven kilometers in length discovered in the Grand Douma Ocean on July 2nd 10,272 CE. Scientists are looking to find intact genetic material to clone in order to bring the native life back to the planet.
Ancient Havenite, and Etymology relics dot the landscapes of Douma, remarkably well preserved thanks to the shifting sands of Douma's previous landscape, however only 0.2% of all relics found on the planet are functional.
Now, Douma's geography is made up of several regions often referred to as: "continents" by the inhabitants, however since the planet lacks tectonic plates these are not continents in the traditional sense. Each of these continents is named after those who were most responsible for the world's terraforming.
- 1: Feathers: Is the largest of the artificial continents and is named after Hena Feathers, then chairman of the Terraforming of planet Douma on behalf of the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems. Its landscape is separate by three distinct regions. The largest of these is a large plain of flat grass-land and fertile farmlands. As a result, this area serves as the planet's largest food producer and it holds the city of: "Turning-Point" a city who's main purpose is to provide the other surface colonies with plenty of vegetables and meats. Towards the western and easternmost points are large of the continents are large flat sandy beaches filled with the more tropical flora of planet Haven. The northern and southern regions of the continent are a large forested region covered in the countless forms of tree-like flora of planet Haven. As a result, not only is it the most flora filled parts of the continent, its the most fauna filled as well with the countless woodland animals that Haven is known for. The two most famous geological features of the continent are the two massive mountain ranges of Eosesh and Srep, the ladder of which holds the planet's largest volcano also named Srep. These twin mountain ranges held two massive cities that also shared the same name however their overall functions varied. Eosesh City served as a research facility for the Magna Particles of the respective Balena Magna fossil located there. While Srep City served more as your traditional city with no specific function. Overall, Feathers has the second largest population of any of the planet's regions with a population of sixteen billion people with the vast majority of which being human however the various members of the sister-races of the Ambrosia Alliance make their homes there as well.
- 2: Mendings: Is the second largest of the artificial continents. It is named after Michael Mendings, flora

Douma's culture is based entirely around Balaena Magna fossils. it serves as the major export and as the main workforce of most of the planet. If a private citizen discovers any part of a Balaena Magna fossil they will be compensated heavily for the remains.
Not much is known about Douma's formation and primeval history. The most major event in this time period was the formation of Douma's dwarf moons.
Life began to appear on Douma's surface in 4,309,315,009 BCE relatively soon after the formation of the planet. The reason of this is unknown though it is theorized that life began due to panspermia.
Douma was left untouched by any sentient life until it became the second body to be colonized by the Havenites in 2,489,466,070 BCE.
It's unknown if Douma could naturally support Havenite habitability or if they had to use artificial means to survive on the surface. However the Havenites had to evacuate the planet in 1,600,215,000 BCE due to planet Acconda, crossing into Douma's orbit, destroying all life on its surface.
This also caused large chunks of the planets landmass to be ejected into orbit and form the major moon Aiene and left a massive scar on the face of the planet known as the Grand Douma Ocean.
Douma remained a barren world for hundreds of thousands of years, but that changed when the human colonists of the Galactic Traveler sent a small team of scientists to set up a small colony to collect resources and return them to Haven in 10,272 CE. The colonists landed on a stretch of land bordering the great Douma Ocean. During radar mapping of the Great Douma Ocean they discovered the massive Balaena Magna fossil.
After studying the fossil they discovered that it was coated with a strange particle that could be converted into massive amounts of energy nicknamed the Magna particle. After this discovery Douma was covered by towering cities, populated by millions.
