Eden is a temperate E-Class human colony world located near the edge of Thulcandran space. It was discovered in 3304 and settled in 3312.

The planet's climate is much cooler than that of Earth, however summers are warm enough for locals to walk around in loose cooler clothing, especially when near the equator. To the delight of the colonists, many of the trees were bio-luminescent, and the forests were much warmer places to live.

When the Thulcandran Federation was formed, fantasy fans from the Confederacy called the Edenites decided to emulate this but with elements of fantasy. They searched and found the perfect planet near the edge of Thulcandran space. Christening it Eden, they began the process of terraforming it while at the same time performing extensive genetic engineering on themselves in order to resemble creatures of myth and fantasy. Their application to enter the Federation was accepted twenty years after colonization.

With this acceptance, the first colonists made an application for the construction of an artificial moon in orbit in order to protect the planet and to create artificial tides. When initial experiments were performed on the local wildlife with regards to a new moon, it was discovered that the moon's albedo would need to be lower so as not to disturb local nighttime. The moon was constructed during the terraforming process and was given its own atmosphere. The surface was arranged to look like Earth's own moon but with darker dust.

After terraforming, each new “race” sat down and discussed land options. What was obvious was that the new race of Dwarves would take many of the major mountain ranges and the Elves (who had added large functioning wings to their physiology) would take the forests of the tall and well-lit forests. Humans were given many of the grassy areas as well as a few islands. Many of the major islands were granted to the new race who referred to themselves as the Fair Folk, or Fae, although some lived alongside the Elves.

The other races were spread out across many of the continents. For centuries the inhabitants lived true to the nature of many typical fantasy novels, even going so far as to use advanced tech to emulate magic. However, they didn't neglect their high tech origins. Many colony missions were sent out to nearby Earthlike worlds in order to settle them.

Many races had altered their physiology so drastically that they had what would be considered superhuman abilities, almost magical such as superhuman strength or the ability of flight Humans, being the lowest on the magical totem pole, began redeveloping technology to keep up with the other races.

When the Star Beasts were discovered thousands of years later the Edenites adopted many of them and began to explore the galaxy in a manner that they were more comfortable with.

The native lifeforms are carbon based in origin and greatly resemble lifeforms described in many fantasy novels, including living oceanic life forms that they trained to become navel vessels.
