Enthar (RS 8409-1353-9-94745580-1066 in is a M1 Red Dwarf star located about 80 light-years away from Sol.

System Overview

Seven major and two dwarf planets orbit Enthar. It also possesses an Asteroid Belt known as the Grevida Belt and a comet outer cloud.

  • Lostran (dwarf Class-D)
  • Stembre (Class-J)
  • Kalahari (Class-D)
  • Vendia (Class-J)
  • Caspia (Class-O)
  • Klantach (Class-N)
  • Grevida (dwarf Class-I)
  • Arvida (Class-I)
  • Moranin (Class-J)

The planet Caspia is home a several modest floating colonies with a total population of about 40,000 humans.

The Grevidan Belt holds several medium-sized asteroid mining operations mining volatiles and some metals such as Germanium and Mercury, along with space stations processing the raw ores and shipping them. The total population living in the belt is estimated to be 35,000.

In total, the system is home to 80,000 sentients.

3,000 unaffiliated colonists landed on Caspia in February 2113. Most of these colonists are former residents of Europa, leaving Sol on a rented colony ship to seek fresh pastures. After several months on Caspia, the residents discovered what they were looking for: a mineral-containing asteroid belt. With little space mining infrastructure, the Caspia residents gave concession to multiple small-scale to megacorporations in exchange for a dividend of the revenue.

Caspia's extremely thick atmosphere, averaging at over 900 atm, prevents any surface fisheries. The colonists improvised, however, by utilizing a form of extremely long vertical pipelines which periodically sucks in water along with anything inside. The colonies are specifically designed to only harvest the surface of the ocean to prevent excessive damage towards local ecosystem. A mechanism is also installed to disallow juvenile marine animals from being caught. Due to the colony's floating in the atmosphere, the pipeline almost never sucks on the same spot.

The catch includes a variant of Earth's Bivalvia (Clams) and Crustacea (Crabs). A special machine is required to process them for human (or any species') consumption, due to their tough shells reaching 6.5 in the Mohs Scale.

As mentioned before, the Grevidan Asteroid Belt mining colonies produce mainly liquid metals and volatiles.
