"Like something straight out of a fantasy novel, Fasia stood. Like a testament to the oddities of the galaxy that surrounded them. Yet in all of that, the beauty of the world stood out, ancient cities towering from every corner and continent. Bloody history gave way to progress and fanatical devotion to peace and protection - This was Fasia - A planet that in of itself embodies everything the Federation now stood for."Fasia is a planet located within the Kauike System and acts as it's local capital, located within the Verpletter Dwarf Galaxy. It is a member world of The Commune Federation.
One of the most unique worlds within the Federation, Fasia is home to several Human Mutant sub-species, after Humans colonized the world after the Seal-Off of Verpletter. Fasia possesses unique properties which make species evolve at incredibly rapid rates, and these evolutions took place all over Fasia, mutating the Humans that were there from their baseline Humanity into various groups with various distinct characteristics.
Often described as a world that came straight out of a fantasy Novel from Earth, the worlds unique and diverse variety of life has made it a hub of activity for The Commune Federation. It is considered one of the gems of the Federation, and it one of the centers of cultural, political, economic and military matters within it's local sector.
In addition, Fasia is noteworthy for it's rich history, and it's many surviving ancient cities and monuments. These have been merged with more modern innovations brought to the world by The Commune Federation, and have intermingled with one another as the cultures there became more and more confederated with one another. A melting pot of culture, it is one of the 100 Elected Gems of the Commune Federation.
Unique Evolutionary Properties
Fasia is home to a unique phenomenon in which the evolution process is sped up for all the creatures living on it. A certain strain of coding in the wildlife there prompts rapid mutations, which the Humans that settled on Fasia acquired when they ate the edible plants and wildlife. After only a few generations, the many various mutant sub-species of Verpletter were born, and have continued to evolve over the course of the next ten thousand years.
Due to this phenomenon, there is incredible diversity in the fauna of Fasia, as well as within the mutant sub-species themselves. By the sixth generation of Humans on Fasia, many huge mutations ceased occurring. It is theorized that this occurred because Humans are not native to Fasia, and did not evolve the necessary biology to fully take advantage of the unique properties of the world. By the year 3000VC, the rapud-evolutionary process seems to have stopped in the sub-species. While mutations still occur, they are nowhere as noticeable as they were previously.
An interesting fact to note is that when taken from Fasia, the wildlife and plant-life does not seem to maintain this rapid onset of evolutionary mutations. Current hypothesis is that Fasia has some sort of atmospheric conditions which subjects of rapid-evolution are required to remain in for the effects to pass on to future generations. It is also suspected that this, combined with the fact that the various mutant sub-species aren't native to Fasia in origin, but are from off the world originally, that they were always going to reach an 'End point' in their mutations. It is thought that this process is what has stopped the mutant sub-species from undergoing more rapid evolution in the last several millennia, although nothing is confirmed, and research is still ongoing. .
Native Species of Fasia
There are many distinct Human sub-species local to Fasia. though they competed with one another in the past, after becoming part of The Commune Federation, these species have come to a communal and mutually beneficial relationship with one another. Each species is found on every continent, though they have environmental preferences. Some of these preferences are more major than others.
These various mutant sub-species however, are all psychologically more or less the same. There are no major gaps in intelligence that have not been explained by the various conditions that their society has, and with the arrival of the Commune Federaton and more advanced technologies, and more opportunities for the native population, this difference has been almost completely eradicated. In spite of the major differences between the sub-species, they all appear to be on the same psychological level as any other Human.
The Elaven are a human sub-species that resemble elves from fantasy stories from Earth. They tend to be taller than the average human, have pointed ears, and possess black sclera. The Elaven are historically one of the most prevalent of the Verpletter species, next to the Qar-Qar and the Sürunen, having immense influence on the course of Fasian history, and being one of the most powerful species collectively on the planet.
They were known for being particularly brutal to their enemies, and the Ororks in particular, whom they blamed for many societal issues. They are commonly found to inhabit the forests of Fasia. Before joining the Federation, their Capital was Arran Lenora. However, they are located all over Fasia, having integrated with the wider society of the planet at large, and are a common sight all over the Commune Federation.
The Dwanvo are a human sub-species that resemble Dwarves from fantasy stories in Human culture. They are shorter than the average Human, but tend to be stronger. They are famous for their abilities to construct huge sub-surface cities, which they construct out of the stone located there. They are the founders of several architectural styles found all over Fasian space, the most famous being K'Rokgar, Halouw'm and S'pek'ar styles.
There are several spots on the surface where Dwanvo can be found en mass, in what are referred to as 'Over-cities'. There are also only a few locations where one can reach the Dwanvo 'Under-cities', located in cities around Mount Jezzamar, the Slopes of Desh'ran'ar, Gloffreys Pass and several others. They are also integrated into the wider Fasian society, and can be found in cities all over the world. Many can also be found in orbit, working on fleet construction.
The Qar-Qar are a human sub-species that resemble horned, pale humanoids. They also tend to have red or white hair, although there are of course exceptions to this tendency. Typically they reside in the mountains of Fasia, constructing towering cities which they called Kaqarka. Politically and socially, the Qar-Qar practiced a form of Anarcho-Communism, in a practice they called Qazzanan-Qazenra.
They have historically been one of the most open and accepting of the Fasian species, open to confederation and collaboration with all around them, and did so with various peoples, in particular the Ororks. As such, they were some of the most vocal advocates of joining The Commune Federation. They are now found all over the Federation in nearly all walks of life.
The Orork are a human sub-species that resemble Orcs from human fantasy. Their skin tones vary from green to red and black, and are noticeable for having a set of tusks. They live in tribes within the Fasian jungles, and have grown sturdy and adept at camouflage as a result of this environment.
Interestingly, Ororks tend to have a peaceful culture, but have been to scapegoats for much of Fasia's existence until The Commune Federation arrived. Many of the other species blamed them for social ills, resulting in them being persecuted almost wherever they went. Impressively, they were able to hold onto their beliefs of kindness and peace during all of this. This has given many Orork a great sense of unity with one another, and of sympathy to various oppressed peoples.
They are now accepted into Fasian society, and are a common sight throughout much of the Commune Federation. Many have volunteered to assist the Ancek Liberation Front in their revolution against the Liberty Empire.
The Skyborne are a sub-species of humanity that evolved wings that could allow them to fly in 1G environments. These wings grow from the shoulder-blades on the individuals back. The colour between these wings tends to be as varied as hair colour.
The Skyborne live in large communities in what are referred to as 'Nests'. These nests often put a high focus on competition with one another, and as a result, the Skyborne are a particularly competitive people. They were feared on Fasia due to their ability to commit brutal aerial assaults against ground based forces, though they were ineffective against the Aquasi for the most part.
They are now well regarded members of Fasian society, and within the Federation in general. They are often found working alongside other flying species.
The Aquasi are a sub-species of humans that developed gills and webbed fingers and feet, allowing them to breathe underwater and swim effectively while submerged. Their cities are often considered the most beautiful in Fasia. The Aquasi have historically been one of the most widespread of the Fasian peoples, since they do not rely on land to build civilizations.
Their society is one that has often valued the arts, and also exploration. They are naturally very curious, and have, in spite of the dangers, often travelled over land in order to explore, and colonize new bodies of water such as lakes and fjords. They have been considered remarkably capable of living in harmony with nature, and not upsetting the food-chain too much on any new region they inhabit. They are found on many of the water-worlds found throughout the Federation.
The Sürunen are a Human sub-species that developed a reptilian appearance as they survived in the deserts of Fasia. They are the most noticeable deviation of all the sub-spcies of Fasia due to their reptilian adaptations, such as scales, an elongated skull, tails, and the likes. The Sürunen also controlled the largest amount of land, (Not counting the Aquasi, who had vast underwater territories) claiming an entire continent-wide desert as their own.
Most Sürunen were loyal to one particular authority, unlike the other species of Fasia, which either had various alignments, like the Elaven, or worked as a single faction, but with interdependent groups, like the Qar-Qar. The Sürunen had one authority that the Sürunen were expected to follow. They also have a merit-based House system. In the modern era, the Sürunen are found all over the Federation, and their House systems are responsible for many various administrative duties on Fasia's behalf.
Like many worlds in Verpletter, Fasia had no sentient life on it until various ships settled the planet after the Seal-Off of Verpletter. The Humans that landed there settled various areas of the planet, as each area had something unique to offer, and would benefit the survival of Humanity as a whole. Due to the unique properties of Fasia, the humans that evolved in these regions became separate mutant sub-species.
These various sub-species developed their own cultures and engaged in conflict with one another, with species such as the Qar-Qar wanting Fasian unity, while others sought more for their own interests. Various complex maps and territories began to become carved out as the species combated one another. some of the wars that were waged became brutal global conflicts.
Of all the species on Fasia, a noteworthy one is the Ororks, whom became the scapegoats for many individuals who sought for someone to blame whenever things started to go wrong for their territories or species at large. An exception to this was the qar-Qar, whom refused to scapegoat the Ororks. This in and of itself often led to conflict.
The arrival of The Commune Federation on Fasia marked a turning point for the world. Upon arriving, in spite of there being conflict and resistance to it, the species all joined as members of the Federation. This led to them forging peace and working together to mutual benefit.
In the millennia since then, Fasia has become one of the most important worlds to the Federation, due to it's high population, diversity, and cultural exports.
GeographyThe geography of Fasia is a complex matter, due to the variety of life there, and the way the continents align. It can be divided up into three parts - Landmass, oceans, and territories.
Fasia is divided up into nine continents, which are oriented around major lots of land. there are several landmasses which make up these continents. Fasia has a wide variety of environments on these continents, ranging from deserts, to jungles, forest, plains, and mountainous regions. It is very Earth like in its variety of environments, accounting for nearly every type of environment.
The continents are named as follows:
Kriofush (1) is located in the northern hemisphere, and is noteably full of rocky mountains, particularly along the south and western coastlines, which are called the Hevakon Ranges. The center of the continent is home to Mount Jezzamar, the highest point on Fasia. The Scattered Channel is located in the west, which one must cross in order to reach the continent Eosira from Kirofush. The Ciliren forest is located along the Narrow Pass, which connects Kriofush to Vaubron in the south-east of the continent.
Vaubron (2) goes across both the equator and into the southern hemisphere. There are two major mountain ranges on the continent, the northern one, which is closest to Kriofush and the Narrow Pass, which is called The Fearsome Peaks, and one along the southern coastline, known as the Yukenari Highlands. It is also home to the Krudkaz Jungles along the equator and eastern coastline, across from Muzeron and in the north-east of the continent. There are several forests on this continent.
Muzeron (3) is divided into two main landmasses connected by a narrow landmass known as the Plesso Pass. the southern landmass is home to a major mountain range known as the Haswey Tips. The northern landmass has scattered mountain ranges, and the small Maharqa Desert. These two landmasses are surrounded by a series of over three thousand small islands. It is located between Kirofush, Vaubron, and Erosia heading east.
Shezoa (4) is an archipelago continent in the southern hemisphere. In spite of being located near the poles, it is kept warm due to a series of volcanoes and underground lava flows, kept in check thanks to modern technology. As a result, the region is a tropical area, home to the Gheccarzurd and Dudgad Og Jungles. The many islands across the archipelago give home to many unique ecosystems
Gluyan (5) is a mostly desert continent, covered by what is refereed to collectively as the Gluyan Desert. The eastern section is home to the Biting Tips mountain range. There are several major islands which surround the continent. Gluyan is in a strategic location, between four other continents.
Eosira (6) is the largest continent on Fasia, and is home to nearly all different biome types. There are deserts in the south-west and in the east, with rocky terrain around the centre, and mountainous regions scattered throughout the region. The Medarkrog, Gilzud Zrurd, and Bigvadh En jungles are scattered across the continent, as are the Omaxina, Miadithas, Zylquinal, Keyyra, and Thexidor forests. There are several tundra regions within the continent.
Xavruin (7) is a small continent made up primarily of two major islands. It is home to a minor set of mountains in the northern region, known as the Kapusdes Heights. The southern region of the continent is a rocky region, with very little complex plant-life.
Weuriyaes (8) is a large island, home to a large desert running through the center of the continent known as the Arid Expanse. In the north and south, there are more mountain ranges, the Slopes of Desh'ran'ar in the north and the Shadan Cliffs in the south. An artificial forest made from exported plants exists at the southern coast of the continent, which is referred to as the Xyrmys Forest.
Neibluboris (9) is the northernmost continent on Fasia, and is a particularly cold area of the planet, taking up a large chunk of the northern pole. It is home to a large tundra biome, as well as a number of large trees.
OceansFasia has multiple identified oceans, their names normally relating to something of relevance or something in their history to warrant remembering.
Territories refers to the various settlements that had been made throughout the history of Fasia's various species combating one another and claiming territory. Territories are usually colonies which have in more modern era's been turned into interconnected cities. Territories are now administrative regions.
Notable Locations of Fasia
Over the millennia, Fasia has been build up intensely, with several notable, ancient cities. As Fasia grew from membership within The Commune Federation, modern, advanced cities have also been constructed on Fasia, blending it's ancient history with the modern requirements of living in a galaxy like Verpletter.
The Narrow Pass is a section of land between the continents Kriofush and Vaubron. Being narrow, it is the only land that one can cross between the two continent - All other methods land land have to be crossed over the Narrow Bay, or across one of the bridges there. The region is tropical, being home to a large forest and jungle biome next to one another - The Ciliren Forests, and the Krudkaz Jundle
Arran Lenora is the largest city of purely Elaven architecture, located within The Ciliren Forests. The trees here are particularly large, leading to the Elaven to make their homes within them, and setting up a series of interconnecting bridges between the two. Several noticeable Elaven Clans made their homes here, such as the Olokrana, Liaqen, Enpetor, Noryarus, and Glyndove Clans. In the modern day, it is home to nearly a Billion Elaven, coming from nearly every Clan on Fasia. It is also home to a significant number of Skyborne and Orork.
The Krudkaz Jungles are located within the Narrow Pass, and near The Ciliren Forests. It is home to multiple Orork tribes, such as the Bru Kraccen, Qan Razrur, Drurkriz, and Vurgrur Tribes. It is also home to the notable city of Kharzug, which in the ancient times, acted as an Orork defensive fortress. Because it was incredibly difficult to find, it was considered something of a myth to outsiders, until the Orork revealed it's location. In the modern age, it is home to over 450 Million Ororks. Many Qar-Qar also reside here, as a remnant from their ancient pact of friendship with the Tribes there.
Mount Jezzamar Is the largest mountain on Fasia, located in Kriofush. It is home to a large series of Qar-Qar fortresses and settlements. It is also home to the city of Over-Fazzrel, and the Fazzrel Opening - An entrance into the Dwanvo undercities. It is named after an ancient Dwanko King, whom founded the first undercity, Fazzrel.
The Hevakon Ranges are a mountain range of interconnected mountains. Many Qar-Qar cities have been constructed along the mountains. It is also notable for being close to the biggest Qar-Qar port on Fasia - Vauxram Landing - located in the North of the Narrow Bay. It historically was a neutral port, as the Qar-Qar allowed anyone to use it. In the modern day, it is a historical site. The Hevakon Ranges are also notable for their series of smaller ship trading ports.
The Fearsome Peaks
The Fearsome Peaks were one of the few Skyborne ruled mountain ranges in the past. It was home to one of the first Skyborne space-faring sites, as the Skyborne utilized the higher altitude to escape Fasia's gravity.
The Yukenari Highlands was a mountain range used for trade by the Qar-Qar with the Orork's in the Shezoa continent. Like many Qar-Qar dominated mountain ranges, the region is home to dozens of well build up and fortified cities. It was also home to the Jhagar Opening into the Dwanvo Undercity of Dakkata
Historically, the Maharqa Desert has been controlled by the Sürunen House of Trade. Due to it's strategic location, it was able to trade with many various species and settlements, ensuring the region would be incredibly wealthy. It is home to several megacities, which are all interconnected.
Gheccarzurd is a major jungle located on Shezoa, and was historically the refuge for over 300 Orork Tribes fleeing persecution from all over Fasia. Several immense cities were constructed due to this, including Nozu Vaz, Zubrodh, and Vroggig Ridh. They are home to some of the most advanced Orork ancient cities on Fasia, though historically they were incredibly easy to discover due to their size.
Dudgad Og is a smaller jungle located on the southernmost region of Fasia and Shezoa. The region was colonized by the Orork who didn't feel safe in Gheccarzurd.
The Gluyan Desert was originally home to the center of operations for the Sürunen. The vast majority of the continent is a desert, making it the ideal region for the reptilian people. The House of the Electorate is located at the very center of the continent, and is surrounded by the various other House's governmental branches. Gluyan is home to dozens of major Sürunen style cities.
The Biting Tips are a mountain range in the east of Gluyan. It was one of the few sites of contact between the Sürunen, Dwanvo, and the Qar-Qar.
Medarkrog is a Jungle in the west of Eosira. Like many jungles, it is home to a great number of Orork Tribes. This jungle has had a particularly brutal history of Elaven, Sürunen, and Skyborne attacks against the Orork Tribes there. Many of the Tribes there were far more resistant to The Commune Federation. In the more recent millennia, it has become home to immense spire buildings that reach over the tree-lines.
Glizud Zrurd is an Eosiran forest, located near the centre of the continent. It was famous for being nearly impossible to navigate unless you were local to the region.
The Bigvadh En Jungle is located along the western coastline of Eosira. Many of the islands are covered in thick jungles in which many OIrorks have colonized.
The Kapusdes Heights are located in the north of the Xavruin continent. Historically, it is unique for being a blending of the Qar-Qari and Dwanvoan cultures.
The Xyrmys Forest is a forest that was planted artificially by various Elaven Clans. They all brought various flora from all over Fasia in one location, and made sure that the forest that grew flourished. It has some of the most biodiversity in all of Fasia.
Slopes of Desh'ran'ar
The Slopes of Desh'ran'ar are a mountain range in Weuriyaes. Historically it was in control of Dwanvo who disliked the Undercities, and sought existence on the surface world. In the modern era, it is known for it's artistic cultures.
The Shadan Cliffs are a southern mountain range on Weuriyaes, and were often the subject of rumoured supernatural lights in the skies. In the modern era, it is believed that those lights may have been connected to alien visitors to the planet, though this is unconfirmed. The region is now communications hub that ensures all trans-solar communications are spread across all of Fasia in real time.
Sphere of Responsibility
Due to the immense population, culture, and importance to The Commune Federation, Fasia has a lot of influence over it's neighbouring systems. It has almost become a tiny nation within the Federation, having influence on all systems within 25 light years of it. Many of these worlds have been colonized by Fasian species as well, giving them a deep connection to the Fasian home-world.
Due to this, Fasia has what it considers to be a Sphere of Responsibility around it - It considers it a moral duty to assist all worlds within this sphere, and to provide them with whatever assistance they may require. The Commune Federation approves of this system of Mutual Aid, and assists Fasia whenever it requires this assistance.
This Sphere of Responsibility has not needed to be enforced much within the last five millennia as the Commune Federation has expanded. Nevertheless, the solar systems within the Sphere of Responsibility remain close to Fasia, and benefit from immense trade with both the world, and between themselves.
Fasia is a center of Trade, particularly within it's Sphere of Responsibility. Goods and services are commonplace throughout the world, which they export in exchange for imports that they benefit from. some of these exports include Elaven botanical knowledge, Dwanvo craftsmanship and ship retrofitting, and Sürunen commerce.
Fasia is a world with a rich bounty of available goods and services which it can provide for those who are interested in it. Many of the various species can offer various unique things to the outside world, and often do.
Because of how trade works within the Federation, this does not net them money - However, it does net them goods and services that they can use to improve their home-world as they see fit, and will promote their world in a positive light. This process has been part of what has made Fasia so well recognized and famous throughout the Federation.
The Sürunen House of Trade takes many responsibilities for the trade of Fasia, as they have the most experience with it. This does not preclude other groups from being involved in the trade around Fasia, though the House of Trade is easily the most notable and recognizable of these groups.
