Lacrimae is the fourth planet of the Dilarcent System in the Ambrosia Galaxy. It was originally an arid cool E-Class world before becoming the temperate E-Class world we see today thanks to the use of terraforming.

General

Lacrimae is a rather famous world in the Ambrosia Alliance's domain. Not for any inherent physical trait, all and all it's actually quite standard in that department, but rather a series of unfortunate events that befell the world towards the end of the First Alliance War. It, along with the planet of Kriing, would be the first two worlds to be attacked by the Ugnara Kingdom in 10,457 CE, the opening actions of the Ugnara Wars.

The attack perpetrated by the Ugnara would also change the planet as a whole, as they evaporated much of the planet's oceans and causing the water vapor to be sent into the upper atmosphere, covering the planet with thick cloud layers, and causing almost constant rainfall. This rain is the most famous feature of Lacrimae today, along with planet Kriing of the Clamoris System, who suffered much the same fate. In folklore, the rain has been interpreted as the planet crying, giving both Lacrimae and Kriing the famous title of the: "Weeping Sisters".

Lacrimae stands as a very important monument to the Ambrosia Alliance of United Systems, as without it being attacked along with Kriing, the two warring factions the Human Alliance of Ambrosia, and the True Alliance of Man would not have joined forces to defeat the Ugnara, and the Ambrosia Alliance as a whole may have never came to be.

Thanks to this historical significance of Lacrimae, it has been left as a so called: "museum world" by the Ambrosia Alliance, meaning that no species or group can lay claim to Lacrimae, instead leaving it as a reminder of those who lost their lives during the faithful attack of the Ugnara. So while people are allowed to view the planet, and even walk on what remains of the surface to observe the ruins of the city of Fincantas, they are disallowed to interact with any of the remaining fauna or landmarks.

Another famous feature of the planet would be that it was the first of its like, as it was the first world allowed to be terraformed by a corporation rather then the Human Alliance government proper. The company responsible would be: "Carolina Ship Manufacturing" which was, and continues to be, the largest human produced ship manufacturing corporation in the Ambrosia Galaxy.

Geography

Lacrimae's geography has changed a few times throughout its history. Originally, it was an arid cool E-Class world, with vast deserts surrounded by emerald green waters. However after the faithful Red Galaxy Event, the planet would have all of its oceans evaporate, causing a runaway greenhouse effect and leaving the planet a hot desert world. After millions of years, the planet would begin to cool down from the greenhouse effect, leaving it a fairly temperate desert world by the turn of the Common Era.

Later on it would be terraformed by Carolina Ship Manufacturing, as they wanted to have a headquarters outside the prying eyes of the Human Alliance of Ambrosia for various legal reasons, as well as needing more real estate for their ever growing enterprise.

While terraforming the planet, William Carolina, then CEO of Carolina Ship Manufacturing wanted to make the planet's geography an exact duplicate of the most temperate region of planet Haven, the continent of Zazriel. As a result, all ares of land are much the same as that of the aforementioned continent.

After the attack by the Ugnara Kingdom, the planet's surface would experience almost constant rainfall due to the extreme amount of water vapor in the atmosphere. Thanks to the rain, the sea level of the planet's oceans have increased extremely, to the point that most of the planet's land mass has been submerged under water, leaving the Lacrimae-Maxim Continent that once spanned half of the planet's surface area, now appear as a small island. By the year 80,000 CE, Lacrimae will look indistinguishable to an oceanic world.

Lacrimae-Maxim:

Lacrimae-Maxim was quite different then you average continent, though due to the planet lacking tectonic plates, it doesn't technically fall under the definition of a continent. Regardless, it was absolutely massive, at around thirty one million kilometers squared, it made up around fifty two percent of the entire surface area of the planet.
