The Nagala were an ancient, late type two species of tripedal reptilian organisms native to planet Umor Titanarum of the Mid Arm in the Ambrosia Galaxy that existed from 2,600,000,000 BCE to 604,000,000 BCE.
The Nagala were an odd bunch. They were small in stature and weighed very little and had a very similar appearance to the Earth species, the Bearded Dragon. As well, they were fiercely loyal to their base governmental structure, with every Nagala accepting any role they were given by the upper echelons of their society at birth.
Their history would be long and storied. From existing in a small tribe, to becoming an interstellar empire of around three thousand star systems. However unlike a lot of species in the known universe, their overall social structure would remain the same for the entirety of their existence.
Eventually, they would be inducted into the Etymology, and their great empire would stagnate, as their many worlds just became thousands among hundreds of billions.
And along with the rest of the Etymology, the Nagala would be completely destroyed once the C.Y.R.E.X. rebelled in 604,000,000 BCE.
The Nagala very much resembled the Pogona, or "Bearded Dragon" reptile species native to planet Earth with their scale color depending on the Nagala in question's ethnicity.
They possessed five limbs which included three legs and two arms. Their skin was tough and leathery and contained around five thousand scales spread across their entire body. These scales ware quite durable, taking around 18,000 newtons to crack. Each scale was around eighteen inches in length.
These scales would vary in color and were mainly used to attract a mate, with more vibrant colors being desired over the duller ones. However they would most commonly be used as a form of defense against attackers.
On their hands there was three digits similar in function to fingers. The smallest digit was opposable, much like a thumb which was located at the palm of the hand. This served the same function as any opposable finger, as it was used to grip objects for various purposes. Around it were two larger digits. These were used to steady objects that were gripped by the main digit.
They moved with the assistance of three legs. The two primary legs were used to move the Nagala around at a maximum speed of five kilometer per standard hour. While the third leg was used to stabilize the Nagala in case they would be knocked over, and or they needed extra leverage with the ground. These legs were around two feet in length.
On their feet they possessed three toe like appendages that functioned much alike their counter parts on their hands, allowing the Nagala to grip and walk along practically any object. At the end of each toe there was one large sharp claw that the Nagala used as an offensive weapons against attackers. These claws were around one and a half feet in length. They would also use them to carve the endless tunnels where the Nagala hives would be located.
On their faces they had four eyes, two front facing and two on the sides of their head. The two front facing eyes were the most dominant, as the Nagala relied on them to see anything in front of them. While the two side facing eyes were used to give the Nagala a stereoscopic three hundred and sixty degree third dimensional view of everything around them in a two kilometer radius. The eye color of Nagala was a uniform orange hue. Their heads could spin approximately ninety degrees, similar to humans.
Their diet would only consist of liquid nitrogen from the many lakes, oceans, and rivers of liquid nitrogen that made up their planet. They needed constant nourishment and they would drink massive amounts of the aforementioned liquid in order to keep their bodies in motion.
Their mouths lacked any form of teeth as they did not need to chew up any food. Instead, it was a sort of funnel like organ that they would use to drink the endless liquid nitrogen oceans of their home world. Two lips would cover this mouth as well.
A Nagala Emperor's physical appearance would appear slightly different from an average one. As they would be taller, standing around seven feet. Heavier, weighing around two hundred pounds. And their scales would take on a golden color.
The behavior of an individual Nagala completely depended on what role they were given at birth. These ranged from anything from teaching roles, governmental roles, military roles, or anything in between. However, most Nagala were very uniform in their demeanor towards others, as they typically viewed everyone and everything in a neutral non-caring manner, even towards familial relationships, aside from those who were above them in society.
Each and every Nagala held one thing in common, the complete and utter devotion to the Nagala Emperor or Empress that served at the time. If an Emperor commanded that all Nagala would jump to their deaths, they would do so on mass without question. This prevented the Nagala to form any kind of religion, philosophy, or any idea that was outside of the Empire's direct creation.
The mating rituals of the Nagala were completely dictated by those Nagala that were above them in their society. Typically, a Nagala wishing to find a mate would be assigned one by a different Nagala that was given the role of mate selecting by other higher ranking Nagala. After two Nagala were selected to mate, the female of the two would lay around fifty eggs and they would hatch in around five standard years. After they were hatched, a Nagala would take around twenty four standard years to fully mature before being selected to preform their own respective tasks for the remainder of their lives.
The lifespan of a Nagala was originally around ninety eight standard years, and during their lifespan they would attempt to do as much as they possibly could in the role their were inducted into. After joining the Etymology and gaining the gift of immortality, all Nagala would continuously exist, endlessly preforming their duties like a sort of machine
Once being made to join the Etymology, these behaviors would remain relatively untouched. However the Nagala Emperor's would be instructed to make decisions that the Etymology themselves implemented.
As previously stated, all Nagala operated under the direct influence of the Nagala Empire. As such, their culture would remain within this all encompassing empire for the entirety of the species existence. This empire was made up of practically countless roles, all serving the resident Emperor or Empress.
And since every Nagala had absolute loyalty beyond any shadow of a doubt, the Nagala never wared amongst themselves or have any kind of conflict against each other, aside from gladiatorial roles to amuse the upper powers of the empire.
However during the end of their independent history, they would engage against the Havenites in a conflict known as the Safe Haven Wars for around sixty five standard years. The culture of all Nagala would shift towards defeating this threat to the empire during this brief period of their history and after the Etymology's intervention, the Nagala Culture would continue to operate as it always had.
The Nagala's only governmental structure was an empire. Meaning that an individual Nagala would serve as Emperor or Empress indefinitely until' their demise. However due to an Emperor being only one individual, they would assign other Nagala to various positions to oversee that their will would implemented and followed.
After the Etymology became their caretakers, the Nagala Empire would function the same when it came to its local governance, however all of their worlds resources could be taken by the Etymology or its peoples at will.
The technology of the Nagala would change several times throughout their existence. From simple wooden and stone tools, to massive star ships and self sustaining colonies across five thousand star systems.
Most technology of the Nagala was meant to serve the purpose of creating Nagala hives where various Nagala could live within, however after the Havenites attacked them, their technology would be split in half. With half focusing on the construction of hives, while the other half focusing on military technologies.
What we would come to know as the Nagala fully evolved on their home world of Umor Titanarum in 2,600,000,000 BCE. As soon as they evolved, all of the complex behavioral, societal, and cultural traits would be deeply integrated in each Nagala's psyche.
They would quickly advance throughout the many ages your typical intelligent species goes through, going from living in simple caves dug across the surface of their home world, to becoming a full fledged late type one species in 2,540,000,000 BCE.
