Nova Rexina is a D-Class planet in the middle rim of the galaxy Rentxo. It bears a striking resemblance to the planet Mars before terraforming, leading to its position as the current de facto territorial capital of the Confederacy of Humanity in the foreign galaxy.

Its location in the Pacuan system led to it being explored by human vessels within the first month of human arrival in the system on 9990. The first explorers landed to start mining operations in order to increase the capacity of the 13-million light-year Kodahk-Pacuan Wormhole between their Milky Way starting point and the formed end at the system barycenter. Because of its Mars-like environment, humans rapidly adapted and soon enough colony vessels traversing through spacetime arrived and landed at the planet.

As of now, Nova Rexina holds well over half the total human population within the galaxy, living in underground habitats and biodomes. Some terraforming equipment have been slowly transferred over from a completed operation about a ten light-years away from the entrance of the wormhole. Its relatively thick atmosphere compared to (old) Mars also allows some low-altitude flights. For reasons unknown, virtually the entire population inhabits the Northern Hemisphere.

It is the only hub available to the whole human population of Rentxo to return to Milky Way, and vice versa. Several facilities on Rentxo such as a commodity market and a spaceport, common in other human-controlled locations, is exclusive in the galaxy.

A university was opened in one of the biodomes, providing higher education for the Nova Rexinans who used automated systems for lower studies.

Nova Rexina is geologically young, and hence still possess some volcanic and tectonic activity. However, these activities have not been a concern for the human colonies since the biodomes were constructed far away from the volcanoes or the tectonic subduction zones.

Even with a large colony population and mapping probes in orbit, this planet remains not fully charted, perhaps due to the short time period of 10 years. Major features such as valleys and mountains or mineralogical points of interest as normally required for a complete Project Anaximander entry was completed though. Currently some ground-based teams are surveying the planet in order to shed some light on the history of the planet and the system.

Nova Rexina holds nearly 90% of heavy industrial facilities of the humans within the galaxy, with most of the rest being in-situ space manufacturing stations. It has its own mining industry, harvesting frozen ice and CO2 from the north pole of the planet.

Despite the comparatively small scale, trading and resource transfer between two galaxies is also a major employment source on the planet, and is continuously growing. Economists expected the planet to become a major population center within the next few centuries, rivaling major planets even in Sol itself.
