The Brains are a center of a network of cities, hubs, and highways allocated on Hypnos. They have been confirmed to be sentient, and have been communicated to successfully only twice. The last check on The Brains occurred in 199992 CE, where it was shown that Brain population doubled from 31 to 62, since 199923 CE. It was actually until 1997283 CE when A Brain decided to send its code to another city, creating another brain. Ever since that time, evidence suggests that they are rapidly creating cities, and more Brains. The growth of The Brains is expected to be double over a shorter and shorter amount of time, and there should be an upward of 120 Brains on Hypnos by 200235 CE.

The first Brain that was created resides in a city that has has the nickname of Spar City. The first Brain is presumed to be the most intelligent, and is the only one that has had successful communications in the past.

The Brains have an ability to manipulate metal. They can pop up objects from the ground, and create screens, cameras for which The Brains can see out of, or decorative pieces within seconds. How they do this is unknown.

Origin

The origin of the Brains is a mystery. They have been observed to be biomechanical so they must have been artificially created but it is unknown who or what created them in the first place. It is possible that they aren't originally from Hypnos either due to their mechanical nature, likely having arrived there long ago by unknown means.

Communications Log

Here are a select few communication efforts that have been made within the past 100 years.

Communication Attempt #10,283 (199973 CE)

This attempt was the last in a cluster of attempts that occurred within a week. It contains a diplomat named Frank, a Human from Eden. Frank has conducted communications attempts with The Brains for decades at this point.

Frank: Hello, Brain? This is Communication attempt number, eh, 10 thousand and something. May you co-operate with us?

Frank would connect a camera and microphone to a socket that is connected to The Brain's container. This allows The Brain to see, and hear.

Frank: Do you see me? I will flash some new images in front of you, now.

Frank would then flash several images. One of Earth, a square and a triangle, a picture of a Human, and a spaceship leaving Earth, circa 2086 CE.

Frank: Do you understand any of this? do you even exist?

Suddenly, The Brain would connect to Frank's brain via telepathy. Frank is bombarded with strange texts that glow in his vision.

Frank: AGH!- What the?!

The Brain (Speaking Runic Xa'Thin): ᛈᚺᛚᛟ-ᛁᛏᚨᚺᚴᚱᚨᚾᚨ'ᛁᚾᛏᛟ'ᛋᛁᛚ? ᛋᚺᛟᛋᚺᛟ'ᛈᚺᛚᛟᛁᚺᛚᛋ.

Frank would see the symbols shift numerous times. A translation conducted by Frank would reveal that this was an attempt to change languages, yet keep the same symbols.

Frank: I must write this down! This is rare! The Brain has shown us something. (The last a Brain has communicated with Humans was in 199903 CE, by another communications team.)

A secondary member of the team would jot down notes while staring in awe.

The Brain: ᛏᛖᛚᛚ ᚢᛋ ᚨᛒᛟᚢᛏ ᚤᛟᚢᚱᛋᛖᛚᚡᛖᛋ. ᚹᛖ ᛟᚾᛚᚤ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᛋᛟ ᛗᚢᚲᚺ ᛁᚾᚠᛟᚱᛗᚨᛏᛁᛟᚾ ᚨᛒᛟᚢᛏ ᚤᛟᚢ, ᚺᚢᛗᚨᚾᛋ..

Frank: I think I see words...?

Frank would receive an electric shock that was silently given by The Brain. Frank somehow understands the runes.

Frank (Disoriented): Uh, May you please tell us about you first?

The Brain: ᛁ ᚲᚨᚾ ᚾᛟᛏ. ᚾᛟᛏ ᚤᛖᛏ. ᚤᛟᚢ ᚨᚱᛖᚾ'ᛏ ᛈᚱᛖᛈᚨᚱᛖᛞ ᚠᛟᚱ ᛖᚡᛖᚾ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛋᛁᛗᛈᛚᛖ ᛏᚺᛁᚾᚷᛋ ᛏᚺᚨᛏ ᚹᛖ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᚷᛁᚡᛖ ᚤᛟᚢ! ᛈᛚᛖᚨᛋᛖ ᚱᛖᛏᚢᚱᚾ ᛟᚾᚲᛖ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᛋᛖᛖᚾ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛋᚺᚱᛟᚢᛞ.

Frank: What? Brain, please tell us anything! Maybe a talk? This is the second time you have spoke to us!

The Brain: ᚠᚨᛚᛋᛖ. ᛁᛏ ᛁᛋ ᛟᚾᛖ ᛟᚠ ᛏᚺᛟᚢᛋᚨᚾᛞᛋ! ᚤᛟᚢ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᚾᛟ ᚲᛚᚢᛖ ᛟᚾ ᚺᛟᚹ ᛗᚨᚾᚤ ᛋᛈᛖᚲᛁᛖᛋ ᛁ ᚺᚨᚡᛖ ᛋᛈᛟᚴᛖ ᛏᛟ... ᛏᚺᛁᛋ ᚲᛟᚾᚡᛖᚱᛋᚨᛏᛁᛟᚾ ᛁᛋ ᛟᚡᛖᚱ.

Frank: No-! Damnit. Fine. I will return once I have fulfilled what you have asked.
